Art In The Age has partnered with the esteemed Historical Society of Pennsylvania to produce a limited edition run of greeting cards, featuring artwork from the HSP collection.
These images, in their original forms, were printed using chromolithography in the late 1800s. This meticulous and tedious process involved a skilled lithographer building layers of flat color onto a paper print using solvents and oil-based pigments on a stone slab. These cards, in their reproduced forms, were printed on traditional offset presses. This process involves the transfer of image from printing plate to rubber roller to paper.
The cards were produced in a highly limited run.
