In 1739 one of the best places to get locally-made chocolate in Philadelphia was Benjamin Franklin's print shop. Thomas Jefferson later declared that drinking chocolate would surpass coffee and tea in America. Celebrate International Chocolate Day with a Philly-centric boozy chocolate elixir. Here's how:
- 1½ oz. Dutch Malt Whiskey
- 6 oz. Hot Chocolate
- 4 Dashes Dashfire Cinnamon Bitters
- 4 Dashes Dashfire Mole Bitters
- Mini S'more garnish dusted with cinnamon
Stir Dutch Malt Whiskey and bitters in with hot chocolate. For a garnish, make a miniature s'more and dust it with grated cinnamon.
*We chose New Liberty's Dutch Malt Whiskey for this particular drink for it's subtle spice flavor that deepens to a lingering dark chocolate and coffee finish. Dutch Malt is available to sample and purchase at our Old City tasting room.
