Introducing Brothership: A new Irish-American Whiskey comes to Art in the Age.

Philadelphia, PA – Just in time for St. Patrick’s Day, Art in the Age will release Brothership Blended Whiskey, a blend of Irish and American whiskies. On Thursday, March 15th, the shop will host a happy hour with featured cocktails to highlight this collaborative spirit.

This featured release is part of Art in the Age’s continuing partnership with New Liberty Distillery, with whom they have created several collaborative products including Fortunato’s Fate, Bloody Butcher Bourbon, and Penna Dutch Malt. Master Distiller Robert Cassell created a new tradition of his own with this whiskey, a blend of smooth 10-year-old Irish and bold 10-year-old American whiskies that combines the best of both traditions. According to Cassell, this type of cross-category blending hasn’t been done since a Jameson product in 1905.

The two whiskies are split roughly evenly — 52% Irish whiskey and 48% American whiskey — then bottled at 90 proof (45% ABV). Citrus and a hint of smoke on the nose lead into a palate full of bright fruity notes, honey, butterscotch, hay, and spice. The finish is dry with oak, bitter cacao and ginger. Brothership was recently awarded a Gold Medal and 92 points (Excellent, Highly Recommended) at the 2017 Ultimate Spirit Challenge, and scored 90 points from Wine Enthusiast.

As the product of a partnership between Connacht Distillery in Ireland and New Liberty Distillery in Philadelphia, PA, Brothership is sold on both sides of the Atlantic, including in PA, NH, DC, NJ, NY, and MA. The retail price at Art in the Age is $39.99.

Raise a glass to the special relationship between Ireland and America, and to the health of our friends from both countries — Slainte!
